I’ve been working with Jay for several years by now.  At our first meeting, Jay sat down and asked me what exactly I was looking for.  At the time, it was pretty simple – weight loss and increased mobility. I didn’t have a lot of experience in a gym, and absolutely no experience in weight training, so Jay took all that into account and developed a training plan that covered everything from kettle bells, TRX, cardio, and body-weight circuits.  Much quicker than I expected, I started losing weight and my mobility improved greatly.  At this point, Jay shifted gears, and it became clear to me that he was not just working to help me hit my one original goal.  Instead, he was helping me move my goal forward.  I had lost my weight, so now we started working on strength and endurance.  Now, a few years later, we’ve built and moved on again, adjusting the training plan as much as needed, finding new challenges and developing new goals, working everything from weight training to circuit training to endurance training to cardio.  The results and changes have exceeded anything I expected.  I’m in the best shape of my life, my overall health has improved, my stress level has dropped drastically, and I have infinitely more energy than I’ve ever had.  With Jay’s direction and guidance, I’ve made drastic changes in my life and lifestyle, and I don’t ever want to go back.

Jay’s attitude towards health and fitness is simply infectious.  He gets it, he enjoys it, he believes in it, and he frankly makes you believe in it.  Even if it’s only baby steps in the beginning, working with Jay, you’ll soon find yourself pushing limits (and, more importantly, WANTING and NEEDING to push those limits) that you’d never thought possible.  With Jay, you learn it’s not just a physical game, it’s a mental game.  Show up ready to give it all you have, and Jay will push you to results that will surprise you.  In the hundreds of sessions I’ve had with Jay at this point, I can honestly say I have NEVER walked away from a single session with regret or disappointment.  Exhausted, oftentimes completely physically spent, every time well challenged, but never disappointed.  The bar moves forward every time, every day.  If you bring your best to each session, I can tell you it WILL pay off.

I have been training with Jay for over a year and a half but I first met him when I was 3 months pregnant. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to train with him during my pregnancy.  I have to say that at first I was a bit nervous to train during pregnancy but my fears quickly disappeared as I was reassured by Jay's certifications, knowledge, professionalism and confidence.  Jay is a dedicated personal trainer (fitness expert) and his dedication to keep me strong and in good health during my pregnancy have helped me maintain a healthy weight and have sped up my recovery afterwards.  I still look forward to training with Jay and I always feel energized and rejuvenated after training.  He is always positive and fun to be around but he also knows how to be serious and encourage you when you feel as though you have nothing left.  His constant encouragement (during and after training) will instill confidence and make you want to push even harder at the next training.  I am lucky to have found him and I look forward to many more years of training!

Jason is a rare personal trainer who puts ‘personal’ first. As many people do, I made the mistake of setting up my fitness goals wrong. I thought about losing weight only.  Jason worked with my mind first, telling me that my weight was not something to concentrate on but eating healthy and exercising to get leaner and stronger was the way to go. Not only does he follow up with great advice on a healthy lifestyle, he educates me on every movement, challenges my body every second of my training, and pushes me to break a sweat. He’s able to get me to the point when I start to think ‘It’s so hard, I can’t’ and says ‘Yes, you can!’ And when it’s over you think ‘Wow! I did it!’ (Even if I wanted to puke a little.)

Every training session with Jason becomes a little battle with myself for a leaner, stronger me and only a victory will do. Did I lose weight. Sure, over 25lbs in just 6 months. But he has shown me its not all about losing weight. Its about feeling good about myself and feeling confident about who I am not just physically, but emotionally as well.
